CEMAsys and Carbon Credits
Seevard AS will assume all customer relationships, contracts, and obligations related to climate credits and associated advisory services. The company is founded and owned by Cemasys’ founders, Per Otto Larsen and Kjetil Selmer-Olsen, who will accordingly step down from their operational roles at Cemasys.
Since its establishment in 2007, Cemasys has been a leading player in Norway and the Nordic region within climate management, climate credits, and ESG reporting. Operating under the name CO2focus, and later Cemasys, the company has supported several hundred organizations with advisory services and the compensation of greenhouse gas emissions through the purchase of high-quality climate credits from recognized standards such as Gold Standard and Verra.
Focus exclusively on the market-leading system and ESG guidance
In parallel, Cemasys has developed a market-leading system platform for comprehensive climate, value chain, and CSRD/VSME reporting, supported by a strong professional environment with deep expertise in ESG and regulatory reporting. This is the business area that Cemasys will now focus exclusively on going forward.
“Discontinuing climate credit trading is a deliberate strategic decision that enables Cemasys to sharpen its focus on systems, advisory services, and regulatory requirements within climate and ESG. At the same time, the establishment of Seevard ensures continuity, deep expertise, and dedicated focus for our climate credit customers,” says Suvi Kaksonen, CEO of Cemasys.
Specialist in climate credits and carbon markets since 2007
Per Otto Larsen and Kjetil Selmer-Olsen have been among Norway’s most experienced specialists in climate credits and carbon markets since 2007, and they will bring this expertise forward into Seevard AS. Through the new company, they will serve both existing and new customers and further develop offerings within climate credits, with a particular focus on Carbon Dioxide Removals (CDR). Cemasys and Seevard will maintain a close and long-term collaboration going forward. The transition has been carefully structured to ensure high quality, predictability, and a seamless experience for customers and partners.
